Scholar Badge Ceremony


“Dreams are like stars…you may never touch them, but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny.”

Many a dream came true on 16th August when the dedication and hard work of many students of grades V-XII was recognized and rewarded in the scholar badge ceremony held.

The Principal, Mr. Shubh Mukherjee formally welcomed the gathering and gave the message to the young scholars to keep striving so that the banner of Delhi Public School flies high. The scholar badge ceremony at DPS Khanna was a huge success.

Independence Day Celebration at DPS Khanna.


DPS Khanna avidly commemorated the 72nd Independence day and remembered with gratitude the sacrifice of the freedom fighters.The celebration began in the school courtyard with the prayer followed by the unfurling of the National flag. This was followed by a pledge. The students of Panthers House put up a wonderful show. A few students presented a patriotic play. The mime and the group song were beautifully presented. The classical dance was the highlight of the day.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem evoking the feeling of patriotism among all present.

A role play on the importance of grammar was conducted by the juniors of Delhi Public School, Khanna. The role play was conducted keeping in mind the importance of grammar as grammar skills are useful in every aspect of life from education to leadership, and social life to the employment opportunities.  They are equally important at home where children learn their grammatical patterns from their parents and family. Our toddlers from grade I-III participated enthusiastically in this activity. This was one of the initiatives  taken by DPS Khanna to make the children proficient in the international language English.

Delhi Public School Students Outshine in AISSCE Board Result


Student of Delhi Public School Khanna feels proud to produce 100% result in AISSCE Board Examination.

Gurleen Kaur brought laurels to school by scoring 95.2% marks in medical stream wherein Vikrant Katoch scored 90.2% marks in Non-Medical. Ayush Agarwal made everyone feel proud with 90.6% in Commerce and in Humanities, Sparsh Goyal got 89.6% marks.

Gurleen Kaur and Jasmeen Kaur Grewal brought laurels to school by scoring 100 in Physical Education whereas Ayush Agarwal scored 99 and Jashanbir Singh got 98% marks in Multimedia and Web Technology.

The school management congratulated the students, their parents and the staff members on the brilliant success in board result.

Inter House Story Narration Competition


Stories keep children engaged and is an effective strategy for language teaching.

To develop a perspective among students about the uses of story telling in terms of developing sensitivity to various world views and reinforcement of social values through stories,an Inter House Story Narration Competition was conducted for Grades I-VI.

 

Labour Day celebrations at DPS Khanna


Labour Day was celebrated at DPS Khanna with full aplomb.
The function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work.

Prayer marked the beginning of the programme followed by Ganesh Vandana presented by the students of Grade IV.The students with their rhythmic steps magnificently showcased their dancing skills by dancing to the tunes of a Punjabi number also.

The event was designed to forge a better understanding of the labour community among our students, aptly staged through a role play.

The class IV employees were also presented with cards and flowers as a mark of respect.
The ceremony came to a close by lauding the ceaseless efforts of the work force of the nation.

Declaiming rhetorically


An Inter House Declamation Contest was conducted on 28th April, 2018 for Grades VII-XII.

The Competition was divided into three categories

Category I – Grades VII –IX
Category II- Grade X
Category III- Grade XI-XII

The students declaimed the speeches of stalwarts like Jawaharlal Nehru, Donovan Livingston and Martin Luther King, exhibiting their knack of oration .They did complete justice to these historic speeches leaving the audience spellbound.

It was indeed an opportunity to witness some great speeches ever made in the history of mankind.

Mr.DS Bains, Chairman Delhi Public School Khanna , judged the competition and lauded the efforts of all the participants mentioning that it was a neck to neck struggle of dexterous articulation between the participants.

DPS holds Inter House Cricket and Basketball Matches


Inter House Basketball and Cricket Matches were organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Delhi Public School Khanna in the school premises.
The matches were organized to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and to hone the basketball and cricket skills among the students.
Panthers House showed its supremacy and took the lead in the
1. Basketball match of the boys (Grades VI-VIII)
2. Basketball match of the girls (Grades IX-XII)
3. Cricket match of the boys(Grades IX-XII)
Tuskers House managed to clinch the first position in the Basketball Match of boys(Grades IX-XII).
Sukhmanpreet Singh of Grade VIII A being declared as the best player in the basketball matches .
Mnaudayveer Singh of Grade XI was declared as the Man of the Match in the cricket tournament.

Green Colour Day


Green is the colour of nature, growth and health. It is the most common colour on the earth.

The student of Pre-Primary Wing of DPS Khanna celebrated ‘Green Colour’ day on 23rd April. The students were dressed up in various shades of green. The students enjoyed different games and activities like sorting the green colour vegetables, frog race and caterpillar walk etc.

It was a day full of fun and enthusiasm.
