Bidding AdieuThe students of Class XI of DPS Khanna gathered today to bid farewell to the outgoing batch of Class XII. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers. The courtyard of the school was festooned with balloons and bright colours.
The theme of the valedictory party was Punjabi attire. The ceremony started with the welcome of Class XII students followed by a loud applause. The stage was set ablaze with a ramp walk and the judges put various questions and the students replied to them very well.An incredible dance item presented by the students of XI was well applauded. The much awaited result of the ramp walk and modelling session was announced.
Aashutosh Shahi of Class XII C was selected as Mr. Farewell and Gurleen Kaur of Class XII A was selected as Miss Farewell while Nobelpreet Singh And Kismat Kaur were selected as Mr. Smart and Miss. Elegant respectively. Students were given compliments and momentos.Class XII cut the farewell cake while Kismat Kaur and Jobanpreet Kaur of Class XII D delivered a valedictory speech. The day ended on a cheerful note.

Basant Panchmi Celebrations
Basant Panchmi marks the advent of Spring Season and is also celebrated to worship Maa Saraswati , the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom.To celebrate this festival ,the students of Panthers House held a special assembly invoking the blessings of Maa Saraswati .Speeches were delivered to explain not just the importance of this day but also teaching them to seek inspiration from the life of a kite also who despite soaring high stays grounded always.An impactful role play was also staged making the students understand the importance of thread strings while flying kites because at times in our own merriment little do we realise the negative impact of using Chinese maanjha or synthetic kite strings on birds.Students also enjoyed kite flying (strictly with cotton/thread strings)
Honouring the Constitution-Republic Day Celebrations
Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in DPS Khanna. The celebration started with the Principal, Mr S. Mukherjee unfurling of the Tricolour. It was followed by the National Anthem.
The students exhibited their feeling of patriotism with wonderful performances. The audience was enlightened by the speeches and poems presented by the wonderful orators of DPS Khanna. A group song put up by the DPS Choir filled every heart with patriotism. It was an overwhelming experience to witness the marvellous dance performance representing national integration showcasing the cultures of various states of India. Choreography depicting the sacrifice of the CRPF personnel in Pulwama Attack rendered everyone speechless.
The Principal Mr. S. Mukherjee acquainted the students with the significance of this great day and inspired them to be responsible citizens of this country by following the principles of the Preamble. Ms. Neha Rattan, the Headmistress congratulated all the teachers and students for putting up such a wonderful programme.
Hues of Art Exhibition, 2019

Dps Khanna organized an Art Exhibition under the aegis of our Hon’ble PVC Ms Annu Bains ,displaying an amalgamation of various material manipulations, sculptures,portraits, best out of waste and many other concepts learnt during their classes.
The Art Exhibition where the colours came alive carefully concocted by the faculty and students of the Art Department was inaugrated by the Hon’ble Chairman Mr. DS Bains escorted by the Principal Mr. Mukherjee.

Annual Fete Celebrations
DPS Khanna organised its Annual School Fete on the 24th of December, 2019. It was one of the most awaited events for the staff and the students. Mr. D.S. Bains, the Chairman, DPS Khanna graced the occasion with his presence.
The stalls of mouth-watering food put up by the students attracted one and all present there. Joy rides and fun games saw the participation of the children as well as the adults equally.
The Healthy Baby Show, the Fancy Dress and Dance Competitions were the prominent part of the fete. The Art Exhibition earned the appreciation of everyone as it showcased the talent of the young artists of the School.
The raffle draw was the star attraction for the parents, staff and students alike. Everyone spent a wonderful day filled with laughter, fun and frolic and went home with cherished moments.
Commemorating Shaheedi Diwas of Chhote Sahibzade
Char Sahibzade is the term endearingly used for the four sons of the tenth Sikh Guru , Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji.
Chotte Sahibzade attained martrydom on 25/26 Dec known as ‘Saka Sirhind’.
In a humble attempt to make our students aware of the illustrious valour and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzade, a special assembly was conducted at DPS Khanna.
The religious movie’Char Sahibzade’was also screened for the students on that particular day.

Exhibits of Ninth Senior Founders Day Celebrations
Delhi Public School Khanna celebrated its Ninth Founders Day on the 18th of November, 2019 with verve and vigour. Major General Surat Sandhu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Miss Priya Shergill-Trustee DPS Khanna and Mr. Kunal Shekhri, member of the Management Committee-DPS Khanna were the Guest of Honour.The event started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest followed by a melodious welcome song ‘Ho yahi gunjan sa.’ The Indo-Western orchestra showcased the talent of DIPSites. The western dance performed by the students of Grade IV & V left everyone mesmerized. Flash mob dance earned the appreciation of parents and guest alike.
Mr. S. Mukherjee, the Principal of the school read the annual school report. A well-synchronized Kathak dance added extra charm to the whole programme. The much awaited event of the day i.e. Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh-a theatre production saw a big round of applause. The grand finale- a bhangra performance enthralled the audience who enjoyed the show to the hilt.The Head Mistress Mrs. Neha Rattan was given the Teacher of the Year award for her excellent performance. Meritorious students were honoured with DPS Blazers and scholarships for outstanding performance in academics.The Chief Guest Major Gen. Sandhu in his speech encouraged the children to dream big, work hard and achieve it. He further added that there are no shortcuts to success. He also advocated the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji- Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Vand Chhako. He lauded the efforts of the teachers for shaping the young minds to become responsible citizens. The Pro Vice Chairperson Mrs. Annu Bains addressed the gathering and said that education teaches to be good and compassionate human beings. And DPS Khanna also imparts such education which is a blend of academic excellence with human values. The Chairperson Mr. D. S. Bains quoted John F. Kennedy’s words and said that children are the most valuable resources and its best hope for the future.The programme ended with the National Anthem.
Extravaganza of Nineth Junior Founders
Delhi Public School Khanna celebrated its Ninth Founders Day for Juniors on the 17th of November, 2019 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. Amar Singh, IAS (Retd.), the Member of Parliament, Fatehgarh Sahib was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Lakhvir Singh Lakha, Member of Legislative Assembly, Payal was the Guest of Honour. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
To seek the blessings of Almighty Lord, the DPS choir presented a hymn and created an aura of piousness around. Mrs. Neha Rattan, the Head Mistress read the school report and made the parents acquainted with achievements of the school in the academic year 2019-20. The tiny tots of Pre Primary wing rocked the stage with their marvellous show ‘One world One Dream.’ Sustainability: Honey Bees and Environment- a theatre production presented by the students of Grade II and III enthralled the audience giving a strong message to protect our environment to maintain ecological balance. The rising stars of Grade I spread the vibrant colours of Punjab on the stage with their stunning performance Bhangra.
Dr. Amar Singh, the Chief Guest said that education can change anybody’s life. He further added that both the teachers and parents should work together for the development of the child. Mr. D. S. Bains, the Chairman, DPS Khanna said that discipline is the key to success. He put forth that DPS Khanna works on the principle of love and trust and each and every child gets his/her due here. He highlighted that DPS Khanna equips every child with the skills needed for better future.
